Welcome to Seven Acres Montessori

As you may have seen on the homepage, our school has changed its name from The Montessori School to Seven Acres Montessori. After nearly 60 years educating students in Fairfield County, we are still the same school known and loved by parents, students, staff, alumni, grandparents, and friends.

The name Seven Acres Montessori celebrates our School's connection to the natural world and the land; indeed, we sit upon seven bucolic acres. Clean and stylized, the new logo pays homage to our beloved labyrinth in the front of the school. We are rolling out the new name this fall, completing full transition later in the year in tandem with launching a new, state of the art website.

If you are new to us, know that choosing a strong foundation for your child’s early education is one of the most important things you will do as a parent, and I invite you to explore our website to learn more about Montessori educational philosophy, our history and mission.

As Dr. Montessori observed, children learn with wonder, joy and confidence if provided the correct environment. When you explore our beautiful seven-acre campus, you can witness the excitement of children learning and playing, feel the energy of teachers and students interacting, and join a welcoming community to share ideas and ask questions.

We have consistently cultivated an atmosphere of excellence and mutual respect through close relationships among teachers, students and families, and our teaching staff have decades of experience and passion for the Montessori philosophy. Seven Acres Montessori offers an intentionally diverse community—a diversity of perspectives and ethnicities, as well as socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds —because we believe these lead children to a greater understanding and appreciation for the world.

Please take your time exploring our website.  I hope it inspires you to come for a visit to see first-hand the joy of learning that takes place every day at Seven Acres Montessori!

Warmly,

Lisa B.A. Potter
